CO2 conversion: RECODE ends, FRESH starts
RECODE: FINAL MEETING
The RECODE H2020 EU project has finished with very interesting outcomes from the validation campaign in industrially relevant environment (TRL6). The partners met the last 21st and 22nd of July for the final meeting at the demo site at the Kamari plant of TITAN CEMENT, in Greece.
As the main outcomes from the project, there are:
- CO2 capture unit based on ionic liquids successfully validated at TRL6 to produce high purity CO2 adequate for subsequent transformation. The unit was designed and built by HYSYTECH with the collaboration of DWGV; the ILs were supplied by IOLITEC;
- CO2 conversion into CaCO3 nanoparticles and NH4Cl crystals validated. Unit developed by Politecnico di Torino, CERTH and MET;
- CO2 conversion into Fomate through electrochemical pathway validated. Unit developed by AVANTIUM and HYSYTECH;
- Ossalate conversion Glyoxylic acid through electrochemical pathway validated. Unit developed by AVANTIUM and HYSYTECH.
HYSYTECH intends to thank all the project partners for the fruitful path achieved together.
FRESH: KICK-OFF MEETING
Last July 14th the kick-off meeting of the FRESH EU H2020 project was held in Florence at the premises of CNAR, the project coordinator.
This project aims at the production of potassium formate from CO2 by exploiting a technology developed by one of the partners, COVAL, and its subsequent use in a Direct Formate Fuel Cell (DFFC) to produce energy.
HYSYTECH will work with COVAL in the scale-up of the technology and will develop and build-up the entire final system for energy production.
