Bio-LNG from Biomethane: a new stage in the path of commissioning of plants

HYSYTECH has always been at the front-end of new technologies related to green chemistry and the circular economy. In this context, thanks to the close collaboration with Stirling Cryogenics, a company within the same group, in recent years the references of new biomethane purification and liquefaction plants to produce Bio-Liquefied Natural Gas (bio-LNG) have been growing and increasing.

In recent months, a significant operation has allowed the group to continue consolidating its presence in this rapidly growing market. This is the contract for the supply of the bio-LNG purification plant with the Swedish company Vafab Mijlo, active in the waste sector, which serves a population of 330,000 inhabitants and manages 18 recycling centers.

The construction of the plant has been completed and, in these days, it is in the testing phase. The plant will produce 2 tons per day of bio-LNG, which will be used to feed the very same trucks collecting the municipal waste delivered to the plant. In cases like this, from the environmental point of view, vehicles using bio-LNG have an environmental impact comparable to an electric vehicle powered by renewable electricity.
